Gimme That Server's Head...ON A RAIL!!!

Cook's Stories

I have actually only ever worked with two previously corporate servers, but they both did have quite a few annoying habits that I believe came from their corporate training.  One milder but somewhat amusing example that comes to mind was a server who always made things into TGIF acronyms as if the rest of us were supposed to know what he was talking about.  i.e. "SOD" meant "soup of the day" even though we didn't even call it soup of the day.  One day I got sick of it and used an acronym every time I said something to him, like "hey can you hand me that FPB"  for "food processor bowl".  He got the point and quit doing it.  -- Owen S.
