The Only Job More Difficult than Restaurant Manager

Here are 10 things you can do to make their lives a bit less of a living hell:

1.  Scrape your plates before you put them on the deck.

2.  Don't throw your silverware, coffee cups, ramekins, etc. into the pre-soak.  There is a live human being that splash is splashing.

3.  Once in a while, ask if you can get anything for them.

4.  Keep the dish deck organized.

5.  Throw paper, straws and anything else that will jam the garbage disposal into the garbage can.

6.  If you use glass racks, put the right glasses into the right racks.

7.  If you are in a position to do so, give them a full meal break sitting down at a table (not hurriedly jamming food into their mouths in the dish area).  And never, ever make them pay for their meal.

8.  Train them to cook, bus, serve, bartend, host...anything to help them get out and move ahead!

9.  Help them whenever possible.

10.  Say "Thank you."
